Prof. Morris Hartstein, MD, FACS was honored to receive the 2022 Outstanding Humanitarian Service Award from the American Academy of Ophthalmology from the President of the Academy at the opening ceremony of their annual meeting in Chicago last week.
The Award recognizes Academy members for significant contributions in charitable activities, care of the indigent and community service performed above and beyond the typical duties of an ophthalmologist. Dr. Hartstein was nominated by American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for his contributions to enhance ophthalmology training and improve access to quality eye care service in Ethiopia.
