MEDICAL MISSION

This was our most impactful medical mission to date. Our expanded efforts included a volunteer team of eight: two oculoplastic surgeons, three EMTs, three laypeople - and our tireless team worked non-stop. We oversaw our Cataract Campaign where we restored vision to 291 patients blind from dense cataracts; trained 65 medical staff at Gondar University Hospital in CPR and First Aid; treated over 1,000 patients in the rural villages of Kola Diba, Azzezo, Tadda, and in the Jewish Compound; operated on 15 patients with complex oculoplastic cases; and provided refugee relief to victims of the recent Ethiopian civil war, and brought lots of smiles to people along the way.
